‘Last To Go’ will be a series of installations examining the near-future world of automation, by creating strangely familiar ‘survivalist’ shelters from discarded objects of the types of work that will no longer be human. Shelter is the very thing we fear we will lose if we lose our jobs, and we’re afraid we don't know how this science fiction reality will play out…so now is the time for ingenuity, endurance and preparing for tomorrow today.
Familiar tropes of wondrous sci-fi TV-shows that have adopted radical scientific theory will form a set which will act as a base for 3D scans of shelters, presenting a mixed reality. Just as current technology and entertainment media is often used to provide the public with a safe route to understanding and accepting challenging societal changes to come.
